J. Greg Tharp, Attorney at Law
For more than 35 years, attorney Greg Tharp has stood shoulder-to-shoulder with clients in their most important legal matters. Today, he limits his practice to the representation of motorists charged with violating Georgia’s traffic laws as well as disabled individuals seeking Social Security disability benefits. Greg knows firsthand what it takes to produce successful results for clients, and more importantly, he is willing to do the work required to get the job done.
Greg learned life’s most important lessons as an attack helicopter pilot in both the United States Army and Marine Reserves. As a Marine Reservist, he flew combat missions in Desert Storm with the responsibility of protecting other service members conducting Navy mine sweeping operations. He was awarded the Navy Combat Action Ribbon and Campaign Ribbon for Operation Desert Storm.
A graduate of the U.S. Military Academy in 1975, Greg earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1986. He has spent almost his entire legal career in private practice representing everyday people and ensuring they are treated fairly by the “system.” His philosophy is simple:
“Every person deserves to be treated fairly by the legal system. Sometimes that happens naturally. Other times, it requires the knowledge, skill, and dedication of an attorney to ensure that happens. Serving others when they need it most is incredibly gratifying legal work, and it’s a privilege to do what I do.” – Greg Tharp
